The Factions of Feudscape™ The Covenant of Allied Powers (CAP) Formed in 3 PoS shortly after the Church's acceptance of humans and the appointing of the Seije's new Overkeeper Aeimenuss Reiukk, the Covenant of Allied Powers was formed to be the galaxy's primary governing body. It suffered several small attacks and raids by the dwindling Red Star Federation until TerranCorp was disbanded entirely, bringing an end to the Federation's operations in the galaxy in 238 PoS. However over the next six hundred years the Covenant grew corrupt and stagnant, paving the way for the re-emergence of yet another mega corporation even worse than TerranCorp, the Novae Corporation. During the latter few centuries of these six hundred years the Corporation grew in power and stature, setting the stage to secure the Covenant in its corrupt and tyrannical grip for good. It wasn't until the time around the Eternal Heresy that the Novae Corporation's power became absolute and had a secure stranglehold on the government and many of its assets. The introduction of Xeironix to the 'lesser' powers of the galaxy was the turning point of the mega corporation's power as it siezed almost all control of its production and shipment across much of the galaxy. It is for this very reason that many dissidents have risen up against the two factions and have sworn to bring them down.

Novae Corporation One of the eight corporations that was created by the disbanding of TerranCorp, the Novae Corporation quickly saw the opportunity for business with the stagnant and greedy Covenant, the so-called 'protectors' of the galaxy. Many deals were struck before the outbreak of the Eternal Heresy, setting the stage for the Covenant's eventual downfall and the rise of the corporation by clandestine means that no one had predicted. By the time Xeironix had been introduced to the Covenant by the Altruists, everything was all set to bring the government under the corporation's control. The Corporation shortly seized all rights to the invaluable resource, bringing the Covenant virtually under its total control. Stacking on an outrageous amount of taxes and fees on shipments of Xeironix and the technology that wields it, they restricted how much was sent to the Covenant military and stockpiled their own military force and named it the Grand Initiative, which is currently over four times as powerful as the combined military forces of the Covenant. It is for these very reasons that many have taken up arms against the two and have sworn to bring an end to their corruption and greed.

Joesheivan Alliance Many of the smaller organisations within the galaxy whom had not sworn allegiance to the Covenant saw the stagnation and corruption of the Covenant long before 875 PoS. Already many smaller governments and pirate houses had staged daring raids against the government in an attempt to break it and its assets to make way for a new, more effective governmental body. It wasn't until Vinceion Seidon held a meeting for the Houses of the galaxy on Joesheiva that things would escalate to the point that these rogues would pose a serious threat, however. The proposal to receive some of the technology which had been recovered from the Altruists' assassinated Overkeeper's heretical technological advances was too good an opportunity to pass up. Seeing an opportunity to finally put an end to the corruption of the Covenant and the growing Novae Corporation the Joesheivan Alliance was formed and mobilised shortly after. Fighting alongside the Arcanists under the financial prowess of House Areterium, they crushed the meager forces the Covenant had throughout the 1-3 Quadrant and officially declared war on the two powers.

Altruists * * * * * Arcanists The Seije are the descendants of the Commen whom once, before the big bang, fought a truly massive war against the Aoumnix, their greatest enemy. Though the Commen can no longer be found in the physical realm, they roam the Netherverse acting as a line of communication between the Seije and Nether herself. Though they have served as the protectors of the universe, corruption has plagued the Church for tens of thousands of years. The first heresy within the Church took place around 99,000 PrS. These heretics sought to replace Nether with another individual whom was strong enough to destroy the Aoumnix for good using a crystal of immense power. The heresy was put down, however, and the crystal they had tried to use was shattered and scattered across the universe and all records supposedly expunged. As time passed, however, the corruption of the Church only got worse and worse until in 3 PoS when a new Overkeeper was elected and the Geniscape displayed its incredible power. Seeing the opportunity for incredible power, Seigenuss Reiukk secretly created her own secret army from 3,000 humans utilising technology she had developed after her research, creating the Paladeins. When the Overkeeper received word that another heresy based on the same ideals of the original had been formed, she panicked. Not wishing to lose her power and wealth she created another more rapid response to hunt down the heretics and put it down once and for all. Gathering several Hydorans, she twisted their E'lan past all hope of return and established the Vindeceira, her personal assassin organisation. For nearly six centuries the heretics played cat-and-mouse with these deadly assassins until enough shards of the crystal which had been used in the first heresy had been collected to allow the heretics' leader, Huberra Seidon, to rise to godhood and overthrow Nether. Utilising the Vindeceira she tracked down Huberra personally and detained him, bringing him back to their capital planet of Citadeil to be publicly executed. This however backlashed and the execution of their beloved leader drove the heretics into a frenzy, igniting the spark that began the Massacre of Citadeil and the beginning of the Eternal Heresy. Huberra's grandson, Vinceion had lived and now assumed the mantle of leadership of the heretics and deemed themselves the Arcanists and their enemies the Altruists. The treacheries and lies of the now deceased Aeimenuss were displayed to the entire galaxy, sowing discontent and outrage at the Church across the galaxy, especially amongst its allies. After the massacre, the Joesheivan Alliance was formed. The Arcanists and Alliance rampaged across the 1-3 Quadrant, crushing all Covenant defenses in their path, dealing a crushing blow to both the Covenant and Novae Corporation. Seeing that if something was not done to stop this, the Altruists released the technology developed by Aeimenuss and released it in very limited quantity to the Novae Corporation to be integrated into their technology. The survivors of the massacre supposedly learned from their mistakes. The entire head of the Church had to be replaced and so was by competent, uncorrupt individuals and a new Overkeeper was appointed, Kleidenuss Aeivuuk. Despite this so-called change, the Altruists' allies still severely distrust and loathe the Church, but still fight alongside them. They fight alongside both the Covenant and Novae Corporation and only wish for the Church to become one again.
